This Kaitiakitanga course looks at sustainability for your Pacific people. Fully funded by MBIE and delivered in partnership with Tātaki Auckland Unlimited’s Project Ikuna programme.

Learning
Graduates from this programme will be able to:
- Identify company values around sustainability and kaitiakitanga
- Reflect on concepts of resource and waste and create a definition of sustainability
- Identify ways to personally impact environmental sustainability
- Apply the LEAN thinking model of ‘8 Wastes’ to their own workplace
- Identify opportunities for improvement and sustainability within their workplace
- Apply sustainable thinking to their skills, career pathway and future – fostering a sense of personal agency
- Develop a growth mindset to aid their learning approach
- Set long-term goals for themselves and their family
- Research a career pathway
- Complete an online learning module
Qualification
Participants gain an Otago Polytechnic Micro credential to recognise their learning.
Format
The way in which we deliver this programme for your organisation is flexible depending on your needs. Groups of 6-10 learners are ideal to work through a 16-18 hour programme together.
It can be delivered in weekly blocks of 2 hours or a more intensive programme such as 4 hour blocks, as you prefer. Training delivery is on-site at your organisation and we are able to deliver this programme throughout the Greater Auckland area.
